. This on-site, contract position offers an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated physician to provide high-quality cardiovascular care within a dynamic and patient-centered clinical environment.



As a Locum Cardiology Physician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiac conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, and ensuring continuity of care for our patients. This contract role is ideal for an Associate-level physician seeking flexibility while making a meaningful impact in a thriving community practice.



Responsibilities



  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterization results
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Prescribe medications and manage ongoing cardiac care regimens
  • Provide consultations to other physicians and healthcare providers on cardiology cases
  • Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR)
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, risk factors, and preventive care
  • Respond promptly to urgent and emergency cardiology consultations as required
  • Coordinate with referring physicians to ensure seamless continuity of care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical protocols and best practices
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and credentialing requirements
  • Support a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on patient outcomes


Requirements



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in Cardiology
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of South Carolina or ability to obtain licensure
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Cardiology
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience in cardiology practice
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostic studies and performing invasive procedures
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based patient care
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing clinical demands


Schedule: 24-hour call, 7 days per month



Patient Census: 55-60 total inpatients or 90-100 total inpatients depending on location



Duties: Consults, rounding on inpatients, TEE, cardioversions, and stress tests



EMR: Epic



Must be board-certified or board-eligible
